In a bid to conduct the lok Sabha elections in a peaceful, free and fair manner, the Champawat district administration claims to have divided the district into six zones and 40 sectors.Under this poll preparation exercise, six zonal and 40 sector magistrates have also been deployed in both the Assembly constituencies of the district, including Champawat and lohaghat that fall in the Almora-Pithoragarh parliamentary constituency, said the officials concerned of the Champawat district administration.
Besides, two zonal and six sector magistrates have also been kept in reserve category, added the officials concerned of the Chamapwat district administration.At the same time, Deependra Kumar Chaudhary, District Election Officer (DEO), Champawat has asked the zonal and sector magistrates to conduct regular visits of their respective areas to maintain law and order.He also asked the officials concerned to remain in touch with each other so that election works could be done in a smooth manner.
