Chamoli intensifies campaign, says steps will be taken to beautify Capital

The ongoing mayoral candidate for Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) Vinod Chamoli along with his supporters did intense door-to-door campaigning in the different wards of the MCD. He also assured the residents that potent steps would be introduced, if he voted to power in the civic polls.
However, veteran BJP leaders including three former Chief Ministers Maj Gen (Retd) BC Khanduri, BS Koshyari and Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank had already done intense campaigning in the Garhwal and Kumaon divisions of Uttarakhand. The day started early for the BJP mayoral candidate, who was busy doing door-to-door campaigning in the different wards of the MCD. Chamoli did door-to-door campaigning at Chunna Bhatta, Bhagat Singh Colony, Muslim Colony, MDDA colony, Sanjay Colony, Chukhu Mohalla, Azad Colony, Nehru Colony, Race Course, Rispana pull and adjoining areas and tried to woo voters in the name of development.
He claimed that all the beneficiary projects for the upliftment of the weaker section of the society were completed in the last five years. Besides, he also took potent measures for the beautification of the capital city and claimed that roads were repaired, funds were allocated to widen the major inter-crossings of the capital city, sewage and new schemes were also introduced for overcoming the problem of potable water.
During door-to-door campaigning, Chamoli also assured the residents that he will again introduce various measures for the overall development of the capital city despite the fact that the State Government is led by the Congress party.
He also termed the Congress regime in Uttarakhand as complete failure and said that beneficiary activities had come to stop in the Garhwal and Kumaon divisions of Uttarakhand. It is also equally to mention here is that the civic election for the post of mayoral has become the triangular as Rajni Rawat, the only eunuch candidate, who stood second in the last election and the Congress candidate Suryakant Dhasmana are also in the fray.
However, with an aim to come back for the second consecutive term on the post of mayor of MCD, couple of senior BJP leaders including BJP National Secretary Trivendra Singh Rawat and BJP State Chief Tirath Singh Rawat were doing campaigning in the higher parts of Uttarakhand.
