The Chamoli district officers would take up teaching on each Wednesday along with doing the routine administrative errands. This is what the Chamoli District Magistrate Ashish Joshi said while meeting the district officers on Monday. He said the move would motivate the students of government junior schools, high schools and intermediate schools to focus on their study. The district officers were directed to select one school each in all the blocks of the district for the purpose. The officers have been directed to select one subject in which they have good knowledge.
The officers were directed to submit the names of the subjects, schools and blocks to DM office. DM said that the district officers have been directed to review teaching standard of the selected schools. The district officers would also review progress of the developmental works in the neighbourhood of such schools during their field visit.
Meanwhile, DM Joshi has directed the chief education officer to provide a list of the schools which need repair or laboratory. He said some donors have met him and wished to donate money for such purposes in the schools. The education officer was directed to submit the report by December 20.
