Centre has turned insensitive towards plight of common people: CM

Published on:

launching a broadside against the Centre in connection with its decision to stop the functioning of the cooperative banks, Chief Minister  Harish Rawat said on Friday that it reveals the anti-farmer mindset of the NDA Government. “It seems that the Centre has turned insensitive towards the plight of  the common men. This is why they have not desisted from taking the drastic step against the cooperative banks operating in the districts which deal with the farmers directly,” he wrote on facebook wall.

Notably, the Uttarakhand High Court while taking note of a PIl lodged  with it praying for the court’s intervention  on the matter asked  the Centre to submit its reply by November 29.  The CM who has so far treaded a cautious path regarding the Centre’s momentous drive has gone all-out  after the High Court’s ruling was known. https://ssl.gstatic.com/ui/v1/icons/mail/images/cleardot.gif

In his stinging riposte, he said that the Centre in its insensitivity appeared to have forgotten the fact that the cooperative banks are  the backbone of the rural economy of many states like Uttarakhand. This is nothing short of backstabbing to make the rural economy crumble, he said on his facebook wall.

The CM’s comment seems to have been well-taken by the people with as  many as three hundred people having liked it in a couple of hours since it came up at 3.40 pm.
