Keeping in view of Kanwar Mela and ongoing Ramzan, Haridwar DM Nidhi Pandey has appealed to them to celebrate both festivals with
great religious fervour. By celebrating this we can build our image, which has received major dent during disaster, after disaster. She made this appeal while convening a meeting with religious head, priest and NGOs at Mela control room, Haridwar on Friday. During meeting she also sought their suggestion and cooperation to conduct these two festival peacefully. She also said that in view of Kanwar mela we would declare school holiday with the consent of school management and parents as well. To control the crowd we have decided to deploy NCC, NSS and voluntary organisation like Shantikunj and other during the mela season.
