Reacting to the Central Bureau of Investigation issuing a summons to former Chief Minister Harish Rawat, the Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee president Kishore Upadhyay has said that this development is an example of "petty mentality" of the Bharatiya Janata Party and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In a statement issued to the media here on Thursday, the PCC chief stated that "after suffering defeat in the Vidhan Sabha and various courts of law, the BJP is using the CBI to create an atmosphere of disorder in the State of Uttarakhand". He further states, "All this is occurring because Narendra Modi, his associates and supporters know that as per the spirit of the Constitution of India, they cannot execute their conspiracy to form Government in Uttarakhand."
The PCC chief further opined that in the last two years, the Central Bureau of Investigation has lost its pride as an investigator. "Every time when there is a strong possibility of the Congress receiving justice, Narendra Modi does the task of trying to foil all such probabilities. From the Governor to the Supreme Court, all are witness to the workings of Narendra Modi," opined the PCC chief.
CBI summons a bid to pre-empt Cong forming Govt: PCC chief. This is a new move orchestrated by Narendra Modi to ensure prevention of the formation of a democratically elected popular Government in accordance with the spirit of the Indian Constitution, for which the party will face the consequences, said Upadhyay.
