Masses are feeling suffocated due to union government's anti people policies. RSS and BJP never work for getting into power but people empowered us due to our concern for society.
During freedom struggle we fought the British Army but we received bullets from our own people during Uttarakhand movement. Now, there is a need to review where our Uttarakhand is going. Instead of making allegation against the Congress, we should do introspection about what we did or what we left while we were in power," said Maj Gen Bhuwan Chandra Khanduri, ex-Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, while addressing party workers in State Council (Prantiya Parishad) meet in Dehradun on Sunday. BJP national organising general secretary Ramlal categorically said that there is a need to give priority to such workers who think about the party all the time because such workers perform better than the workers who believe in buttering. BJP is known for its internal democratic system which is why poster boy was anointed with party president post.
He made this statement while addressing a day-long BJP state council meeting, which was organised to appoint Teerath Singh Rawat as State BJP president formally, in Dehradun on Sunday. He further said that BJP lost last Assembly election-2012 by mere one seat, but the party workers took it as positive result. He administered oath to them to work with newly appointed State President Teerath without any prejudice to ensure party victory in upcoming elections.
Appreciating the three ex-CMs namely Bhagat Singh Koshiyari, Maj Gen BC Khanduri and Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank he said their work proven milstone for others. “Despite these, if anyone committed mistakes, then instead of highlighting their negative aspects, we should see his positive aspect.”
Praising Teerath, he expressed hope that the party will perform better under his leadership. “Due to our work and ideology, we have been ruling several States and wherever we are in Opposition, we are also contributing in the State development by highlighting negative aspect of the Government. Even in Uttarakhand, we are criticising the Congress Government whenever they did wrong as Opposition.
Motivating party workers, he said: "People are watching BJP with great hope which is why we performed well in cooperative election despite being in Opposition." He asked Rawat to build the executive committee and advised him to make physical inspection before making booth level committee (BlC) and ensure women representation as well.
"Before this, you must make sure that the new team will have to face municipal, local bodies and general election in coming days; so team members should have fighting spirit," he said.
Attacking the Congress-led State Government, he said that the incumbent Government is either closing welfare schemes or changing its name, which were launched by the previous government. "We believe in psychology principles i.e. strength, weakness, opportunity and threat (SWOT)." He appealed to them to know "your strength, know your weakness, skill to sense opportunity and be alert to counter the allegation, which may be framed by the Opposition to malign our party image." He reiterated that the party is having great concern with nation interest; so "we would never allow Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and other anti-people policy to be executed on ground. We are active Opposition and will keep raising public issues. If we exclude BJP and NDA ruling states' GDP, then the country's GDP would go down far behind from now. In Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Bihar and Punjab, state governments have made phenomenal contribution by strengthening Public Distribution System (PDS) and implementing farmers welfare schemes. In coming election, BJP'S Unique Selling Point (USP) would be Sushashn (Good governance) Sankalp BJP Vikalp. In Solar energy Gujarat is ahead in world."
Sarcastically, he said BJP is neither mother-son nor father-son party and believes in internal democracy, which is why Nitin Gadkari was elevated as national president. legislators who own expensive cars after winning election and forget their past, should know that by doing this they can project themselves as leader but can't be party workers.
"Congress-led UPA is a sinking ship, which is why the alliance partners are leaving one by one. Instead of Dr Manmohan Singh, CBI is running the Union Government currently. For instance, CBI raided the house of DMK leader as they left UPA, so BJP would unfurl its flag in coming days because the incumbent Government has made severe dent on nation image."
Rawat said that ruling Congress is threatened which is why they wanted to delay the local body elections but now they are on back-foot after High Court reprimand. He reiterated that BJP is known as party with difference, because it believes in ideology. Now the State is on sale. State Cabinet Ministers prefer to go on foreign tours during calamity and to avoid Opposition attack, they also take BJP MlAs along with them. He warned their legislators to beware of such tactics.
State organising general secretary Naresh Bansal presented two political proposals namely formation of party election committee and disciplinary committee, which were passed by State executive with majority and also empowered state president to form both committees.
Other dignitaries including ex-CM Bhagat Singh Koshiyari and Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Ex BJP state president Bachi Singh Rawat, Puran Chand Sharma, Manoharkant Dhyani, Bishan Singh Chufal; General secretary (organisation) Sanjay Kumar, leader of Opposition Ajay Bhatt, Mayor Vinod Chamoli and hundreds of workers participated in the meeting.
