Catch Salt and Spices is planning to expand its activities in Uttarakhand. Though limited quantity of spice cultivation in Uttarakhand prevents the company from using raw material from this State, it could look into the possibility of facilitating cultivation for specialised spices as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility activities.
Addressing the media, DS Spiceco Pvt ltd associate business head OP Khanduja said, “Catch Salt & Spices has shown a growth of about 23 per cent over the last financial year with a turnover of about Rs 300 crore. We have strong channel network of 58 distributors with retail coverage of 4075 in the region and have about 15 per cent of the market share in Uttarakhand. Our brand has grown by about 19 per cent over the last financial year in Uttarakhand, which is an important and one of the fastest growing markets for the brand.”
Dharampal Satyapal limited senior vice president, Corporate Communication and PR, Bhavna Sood said that since the quantity of spice production is not adequate to be used as raw material by DS Spiceco Pvt ltd, the company is doing some work under CSR in Uttarakhand and considering the possibility of facilitating cultivation of basil and oregano for use as specialised spices.
