Once again the issue of fake degrees popped up regarding the Vice-Chancellor of Gurukula Kangri Vishwavidyalaya. His Arya Samaj Gurukul high school and intermediate are not being considered valid. Following a complaint by one Hariphal Singh of Deoband, a case of forgery has been registered by Kankhal thana on Sunday afternoon.

Speaking to The Pioneer, Vice-Chancellor of Gurukula Kangri University Surendra Kumar said, "Two years before also then SSP had examined all my certificates based on a complaint and verified them. The matter was sent to High court. Now again some Hariphal has lodged a complaint. I again restate the same thing that I have passed Uttar Madhyama in 1962 from Gurukul Jhajhar run by Arya Samaj. This is equivalent to the High school certificate."

While the Kankhal thana incharge Ritesh Shah said, "A case has been registered against the Gurukul Kangri VC Surendra Kumar following a complaint regarding fake educational documents. SP city has done preliminary probe and examined the documents which were found fake prima facie. Hence a case of forgery under section 420 IPC has been registered against the Vice chancellor. Detailed probe has set in after the registration of the case."

SP city Navneet Singh Bhullar told the Pioneer that the very fact claimed by Surendra Kumar that he passed class 12( intermediate) at the age of 10 raises questions about the credibility of the certificate. He said that since the case was registered detailed examination of documents shall be done.
