Recommendation has been made for suspending the head mistress of the Government primary school, Kulpi, for tampering with documentation to show admissions of five fictional students. On the other hand, an explanation has also been sought from the Principal of Government High School Badshahithaul for opening the school late and closing it before the set time.
Reaching the Government primary school, Kulpi in Chamba block on a surprise inspection Deputy Education Officer Aninath discovered that five dummy students had been admitted to the school in the 2014-15 session. The birth dates of these students and their fathers’ names were not written in the records which led to the discovery of them being dummies. There was no record of these students in the attendance register.
Enquiries revealed that since the last year allowance was being given to the Bhojanmata and additional ration was being procured for the dummy students. Considering this, the officer recommended the suspension of the school head mistress Seema Devi.
Explanation has also been sought from the Principal of the Government high school Badshahithaul for opening the school late and closing it before the fixed time. Similarly, explanations have also been sought from Principals of Government primary school Ranichauri and Government Inter College Ranichauri for anomalies found in these schools.
The DEO said that monthly review meetings will be held at the block level with school principals and targets will be fixed for the schools. Stringent action will be taken against the person concerned in case of anomalies being discovered in the schools, he added.
