The problems caused by vehicles other than buses being parked at the new bus stand in Tallital were exposed once again on Sunday when a minor accident involving the car of a tourist and a roadways bus led to an altercation between the drivers of the two vehicles. This in turn caused traffic jam on the Bhawali road for about half an hour. On learing of the situation, a police constable reached the site and took the two to the police station where an agreement was reached between the two.
According to details received, there was a minor mishap involving the car of a tourist- Dl 10 CS 7169 and a Bhawali depot bus number UK07 TA 1252 while the vehicles were negotiating a turn. The car is reported to have sustained minor damage in the mishap. After this, both the sides entered into a verbal altercation, blaming each other for the mishap. The bus driver said that other vehicles are not allowed to enter the bus stand area despite which this violation is continuing. It should be mentioned here that taxi operators and drivers of tourist vehicles from outside continue to park at the new bus stand in Tallital though the roadways staff has been asking them to desist from doing so. The problems caused due to this anomaly also include traffic congestion on the roads to Bhawali and Haldwani apart from minor mishaps and public inconvenience.
