With the poll campaign coming to an end, the key to victory for the lok Sabha candidates from Tehri now rests in the hands of voters who will be pondering overnight for the right candidate to represent their constituency for next five years.

From Tehri lok Sabha seat, the Congress candidate Saket Bhauguna, the son of former Chief Minster Vijay Bahuguna is contesting against the sitting MP from BJP Mala Rajya laxmi a member of royal family making the electoral fight an interesting one in the State. While Mala Rajya laxmi is pinning her hopes on wave of Narendra Modi, the prime ministerial candidate from BJP for her victory in the elections, the Congress candidate Saket Bahuguna is relying on the work done by his father former Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna in the constituency making the electoral seat of Tehri prestigious for both party.

The Aam Admi Party (AAP) candidate Anoop Nautiyal could play a spoilsport for any of the two parties is resting it's hopes largely on urban voters in the constituency. Both parties namely Congress and BJP are leaving no stone unturned and have increased their door-to-door canvassing to gain lead form the Tehri.

There are around 13,41,393 voters in the Tehri Parliamentary constituency out of which 7,04,071a are male voters while the population of female voters is around 6,37,268. Around 16 candidates are in fray from their lok Sabha out of which 15 are male and one is female that to from BJP. The key issues have become irrelevant in these elections with the candidates from major political parties relying mostly on the charisma of individual politicians such as the Chief Minister Harish Rawat from Congress and Narendra Modi from BJP.

The campaign in these elections have remained focused on the verbal spat between the candidates contesting from Tehri with Mala Rajya laxmi accusing the State Government for the slow rate of development in her constituency and is pitching on the good governance path being shown by Narendra Modi.

On the other hand, the Congress candidate from Tehri, Saket Bahuguna has made the works done during the tenure of his father, former Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna as rallying point also highlighting the works being done by present chief Minister Harish Rawat. However, the fate of the candidates from Tehri lok Sabah will be sealed in the ballot box after completion of polling on May 7.
