No one will be allowed to campaign at the polling booth or during voting as per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India (ECI). If any person is found indulging in campaigning at the polling booth or during voting, necessary action will be taken against such person as per the law, asserted HC Semwal, District Election Officer (DEO), Pithorgarh.
Therefore, officials concerned including Assistant Returning Officers and Nodal Officers have been directed to take strong action against persons who are found indulged in election campaign related activities at the polling booth or during voting, further said Semwal.The district election office, Pithoragarh, has also directed the polling personnel to strictly implement the model code ofconduct. laxity in ensuring strict implementation of the Model Code of Conduct would be dealt with strongly as per the law, asserted the DEO.
