The citizens raised various concerns and issues during a multi-purpose camp chaired in Dharmpur Assembly constituency by Cabinet Minister and local MlA Dinesh Aggarwal on Sunday.
In the camp a total of 199 beneficiaries filled applications for various schemes of the Social Welfare department of which 146 were related to old age pension, 37 related to widow pension, 14 for handicapped persons’ pension while two applications were received for family financial assistance.
Addressing the people present on the occasion, Aggarwal said that the multipurpose camp had been organised to ensure that the intended beneficiaries are able to derive the benefit of various welfare schemes being operated by the State Government. The government wants to bring the backward and poor into the mainstream of development by ensuring that they derive the benefit of the various welfare schemes being operated for them. “We intend to ensure that the last needy person is also benefited by the welfare schemes for which such multipurpose camps are being organised,” said the minister.
He also directed the social welfare officer to resolve any inadequacies in the application forms received during the camp on Sunday so that the eligible persons are not denied benefit intended for them.
Aggarwal directed officials of the municipal corporation of Dehradun to transfer land without delay to the Jal Sansthan and Irrigation department so that they may set up tube wells to resolve the water shortage being faced by the people. He directed officials replace the damaged electricity poles and he also directed the officials to ensure that action is taken against the official responsible in case the public grievances are not resolved on time.
