A group of National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets from Uttarakhand who took part in the Republic Day parade called upon the Governor Dr KK Paul at Raj Bhawan on Tuesday.
Interacting with the cadets the Governor said that staying in the national camp and participating in parades like Republic Day parade is possible only when a cadet receives training with complete dedication.
“I am glad that more than a hundred students have been trained and disciplined to participate in the parade. Participating in such events built a person’s confidence. NCC cadets always obtain good marks in competitive exams due to this improvement in personality,’’ he said.
Dr Paul felicitated three female NCC cadets who won prizes in the Republic day parade.
Those honored included Pooja Mehra (recipient of Defence Minister’s medal for parade, Hina Danu (who got the Best Pilot award of President and Prime Minister) and to Kiran, (awarded for best riding)
Wishing best for their future the Governor shared with the cadets the memories of his student days when he was an NCC Cadet.
The Additional Director General (ADG) of NCC (Uttarakhand) Major General C Mani, parade contingent Col D S Shekhawat and several officials of NCC Directorate were present on the occasion.
