Commuters faced hardship as the entire fleet of the buses of State transport corporation was off the road on Friday due to strike call. The agitators allowed the bus services to resume after 2 pm only.
The trade unions and different associations of roadways are angry over the provisions of the proposed Road Transport and Safety Bill.
General public bore maximum brunt of the strike call. Harassed passengers were seen standing at the Inter State Bus Terminus (ISBT) and other bus stands.
Suresh Chauhan of Nahan in Himachal Pradesh said, “ I am waiting since morning here but I was told that buses are not plying due to the strike. I have no other option but to wait till the services resume’’.
Sone lal, a resident of Delhi who was in city on an official assignment, said that the employee unions should adopt other methods of registering their protest.
