Alleging that hundreds of Vikrams illegally running on the Doiwala, Raipur- Premnagar and Garhi Cant routes, the Dehradun City Bus Association has demanded action against them. A delegation of the association met the Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Dehradun, Dinesh Pathoi on Monday and demanded action against the Vikrams which are plying illegally. The president of the association Vijay Vardhan Dandariyal said that the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) in its meeting on December 2008 allowed only 11 Vikrams out of total 108 to ply on Diowala- ISBT route and back. He alleged that in violation of the RTA all these Vikrams are illegally plying on this route.
The association asked the RTO to take action against the illegal Vikrams. Dandariyal said the department has given permission to Vikrams to ply from Doiwala to Rispana Bridge only but scores of these Vikrams are running on Kedarpuram route and Dharampur- Mothorowala route causing huge losses to the city bus owners.
