Bureaucracy working in irresponsible manner: MlA Bisht

Doiwala MlA Hira Singh Bisht has alleged that bureaucracy in the State is functioning in an irresponsible manner, not even ensuring the execution of orders issued by the Chief Minister, Harish Rawat.

The MlA said that no work has been started by the State Government on the promises made to the public of Doiwala Vidhan Sabha constituency months ago by the CM due to which the level of public dissatisfaction is rising. Presently, Bisht is pursuing the issues “peacefully” but would not hesitate to protest in the future it the authorities remain apathetic.

In the recent past, Vidhan Sabha speaker Govind Singh Kunjwal and other party

leaders had managed to placate the Congress MlA from Pithoragarh, Mayukh Mehar who was protesting against the failure of the State Government to execute measures for resolving problems being faced in his constituency.

Other Congress MlAs and some Cabinet Ministers too have at different times pointed at the inefficiency of the State machinery or other problems being faced in the State.

Now, the Doiwala MlA is questioning the working of the bureaucracy. Talking to The Pioneer, Bisht said, “The State bureaucracy is not working as required. Months ago before the Assembly bypolls in July, the Chief Minister had promised extension of the hospital in the constituency, construction of a bridge, establishment of a polytechnic, a mini-stadium and a separate Public Works Department division in the constituency among other announcements.

“The CM had also issued orders for starting work in a couple of these about two months ago but so far the officials concerned have not taken necessary action to even execute the Chief Minister’s orders. At present I am trying to get the works done peacefully but I am used to struggling for the welfare of the public,” he said, hinting at the possibility of staging protest in the future if the authorities fail to ensure timely action on the ground.
