Terming the Budget a total failure, the Congress MlAs Qazi Nizamuddin and Manoj Rawat said that it was totally directionless. Addressing mediapersons, the Manglaur MlA Qazi Nizammuddin said that the Budget has more of non plan expenditure which clearly is not a good sign for the people of the State. Kedarnath MlA Manoj Rawat questioned the Government for not providing details of revenue receipts and thus keeping the people of the State in the dark. He said that that a provision of only 13.33 crore has been made for providing pension to widows. Rawat termed the figure too meagre as there are more than 1.50 lakh pensioners in the state and a sum of Rs 80 crore is needed under this head. The Kedarnath MlA also targeted the Government for making wrong claims on revenue collections in mining sector. He said that last year the Government has said that it had set a target to collect Rs 620 crore from mining leases but it could get only 323 crore this year.
