State Congress spokesperson Anshul Shreekunj said the BJP MP from here has lots to explain on how the Railway Budget has disappointed the people of Uttarakhand. The Budget is directionless and worthless, he said.
Anshul further said that BJP- led Government has neither announced new trains for the State nor capacity of any train has been extended. Rishikesh – Karnprayag and Tanakpur – Bageshwar rail tracks which had been announced previously , have not figured in the Budget.
Hikes in the transportation charges of urea, cement, coal and steel will adversely impact on farmers and the poor. Taking a jibe at BJP, he said “they have hoodwinked the people over the promised Bullet Train. It figured in the saffron party’s election manifesto. This year, they have backed out. We wonder whether they would do the same in years to come”.
