Venting anger against UP BJP vice-president Daya Shankar Singh hurling slurs on the BSP supremo Ms Mayawati, the BSP activists blocked the road opposite Roorkee bus stand and later submitted a memorandum to a magistrate on Thursday.
Speaking to The Pioneer, BSP State president Satish Kumar said, “The protest is just a warning to the BJP. If any of the party leaders dares go for such remark in future we would have the state paralysed. The people, particularly, those from the Dalit community, are outraged over the comment made by the BJP leader. This is unimaginable that a party leader can make such a vulgar comment. We are shocked. If things repeat we would go for paralyzing the state by blocking roads and stopping traffic,” he warned.
Several BSP supporters gathered near the bus stand to ventilate protest. They were led by the state party general secretary Anil Saini, district president Manpal and others.
