Though internet services have remained disrupted in some parts of Haldwani for over a fortnight due to shutting down of the BSNl’s Kushumkhera exchange the mobile phone services are now more or less normal.Though officials of the BSNl are claiming that efforts are on to smoothen the communication services by shifting the exchange to a nearby area, people, particularly the internet users, keep on having trouble because of poor functioning of its internet services.
Following shutting down of the Kushumkhera exchange of the BSNl, communication services, mainly internet services, have been hit here in some parts of the Haldwani, including Kushumkhera, Haldwani block area, RTO office Road, Gas Godam Road, Pilikothi, Basnt Vihar, lamachaur, Kathghariya, Unchapul, Haripurnaik, Kamluwaganja, Kaladhungi Road, to name a few areas.
Among others, the cyber cafe owners are the worst hit due to dragging disruption in the BSNl- run communication services.“We are incurring huge losses on a daily basis because of the disruption in BSNl services, said Atual, a cyber café owner at Kushumkhera. The alternative arrangements we have made to cater to our daily customers are proving costlier”, he regretted.
