Outgoing DGP BS Sidhu was given warm farewell on his retirement as the DGP of the State by the police department at the State police headquarters on Saturday.
Sidhu, in his parting address, said that he had taken several measures to make the police more efficient. Several welfare steps had been taken for police personnel too, he said. SDRF, Homicide Investigation Squad, City Patrol Unit, forensic science laboratory and others had been formed during his tenure, he stated, adding that he had been able to do his bit during his stint as DGP thanks to the cooperation he had received in full measure from his colleagues.
