With the assembly election schedule in state declared, the Uttarakhand board is mulling over the examination dates of the class X and XII examinations. These examinations normally start in first week of March.  A meeting of Uttarakhand Vidhyalayi Shiksha Parishad (UVSP)- Uttarakhand board- is expected to be held in two to three days. In this meeting the schedule of the board examination would be decided. The board officials are in contact with election commission and would seek its permission before releasing the schedule.

The voting for assembly elections in the state would be held on February 15 while the counting of votes would be on March 11. It is learnt that the board is planning to hold the examinations in two phases. The first phase would probably be held after the date of voting and would end on March 11. The second phase could start after the counting of votes. The board had earlier declared the dates of Practical examinations. The practical were slated to be held between January 15 to February 15. The UVSP had even appointed examiners for the practical examination.  After the declaration of dates of assembly elections it is very likely that the board makes some changes in the schedule of the practical examination. The chairman of the UVSP, R K Kunwar said that the schedule of the board examination would be released after a meeting of the governing body. last year the board examination was held in 1304 examination centres across the state.  In class XII and X examinations last year,  143915 and 173226 students were enrolled respectively.
