State Khadi and Gramodyog Minister Harish Chandra Durgapal has stressed on effectively arresting the trend of migration from the hilly regions to the towns in the plains of the State.
We must facilitate small and medium-scale industries to generate employment. For this, the department concerned should promote Industrial Training Institute (ITI) and polytechnic colleges in the hilly regions. Whosoever wants to establish industry, the State Government would provide all kinds of necessary assistance. State Government’s objective is to identify at least 1,000 technically sound and skilled persons, whom we will facilitate to open their own entrepreneurship so that they would create employment opportunity for the youth. These entrepreneurs will motivate our youth as well. For this, the Union Government has allocated Rs80 crore to the State. The Minister has asked the Principal Secretary to send another demand of Rs50 crore to the Union Government. With this, we would be able to promote entrepreneurship in the hills and will also develop market for their products. We would help the entrepreneurs so that they would produce quality products with good designs. This will enhance their income as well.
