Renowned English author Ruskin Bond launched Fiction and Film: Ruskin Bond’s Romantic Imagination, written by Jaskiran Chopra, at Mussoorie on the weekend.
The launch was organised amid fans and admirers at Cambridge Book Depot where Bond’s fans come to meet the iconic author from all parts of the country and the world every Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, Bond said that this work of Chopra was based on in-depth research on his life and writings. He congratulated Jaskiran Chopra for the publication of this work that was the result of several years of research.
He said that the book had brought out the essence and spirit of his writing very effectively and beautifully. “Only someone who deeply understands my temperament and perspective of life could have written about me like this,” he said.
Chopra’s work talks about Bond’s childhood, his love for the mountains, his subjective and first person style of writing, his fascination with childhood and innocence, and his humanism. The book also describes in great detail all the serials and films made on Bond’s writings.
Present on the occasion were Sunil Arora, owner of Cambridge Book Depot and a large number of people from various parts of the country who had come to meet and talk to their favourite writer.
