Bogus lPG connections delay DBTl scheme

Published on:

Bogus lPG connections seem to have hit the smooth implementation of the Direct Benefit Transfer lPG (DBTl) scheme in Udham Singh Nagar district. However, keeping in view the increasing number of such  fake lPG connections, the Udham Singh Nagar district administration has asked the officials concerned to cancel all such connections with immediate effect and ensure registration of the genuine lPG consumers so that the DBTl scheme can be implemented effectively.

In case of carelessness on part of the officials concerned in this matter, strong action will be taken, asserted the district administration, Udham Singh Nagar. More so, the district administration has also appealed to the lPG consumers to open their bank accounts in the CBS equipped banks so that gas subsidy could be transferred to their respective bank accounts.

It has also asked the bank officials  to organise camps in their respective areas  for opening bank accounts of the lPG consumers. The  district administration has also stressed on the need to complete the bank account opening process as early as possible, asking the officials of the lPG agencies and banks to work in sync.

Meanwhile, to help the consumers avail the gas subsidy scheme, the Government has already dropped the condition of Aadhaar cards being submitted while applying for DBTl scheme. However, since the Government has decided to do online payment of all the popular schemes from 2015, it is thus vital for the officials concerned to cover all the beneficiaries under the DBTl scheme at the earliest.
