Dehradun police recovered the body of 45-year old Bishan Singh, an employee in Jal Sansthan, from the roadside bushes near the Secretariat on Saturday.
Singh was missing from his home for the last few days and a report was registered at Karanpur police post by his family members on July 10. However, the recovery of body near the Secretariat area in the broad daylight on Saturday has exposed district police’s security arrangement in the area. It has happened when city patrol unit which is dedicated to check crime, patrols around city between 8 am to 12 o’clock midnight.
Kotwali Circle officer Pramod Kumar said that police was informed about a body lying in the road side bushes near Secretariat on Saturday noon. Police reached the spot and recovered the body. Police came to know about the deceased’s identity from his voter identify card found in his pocket.
The family was informed about this incident and the body was sent for post mortem. The actual cause of his death will be revealed after postmortem report only. Moreover, deceased family had reported his missing in the Karanpur police post on July 10, said police source.
