Board members of the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun visited the under-construction waste treatment plant at Shishambada here on Friday.
The facility which is required to become operational by August 1 might take longer to become fully operational.
The leader of opposition in the MCD, Neenu Sehgal said that though workers have been put on the task, the rain will made it difficult to complete the work by the said deadline.
Though the waste treatment part may time longer to become operational, it would be good even if the
dumping of garbage can be started here from the start of next month. Instead of pushing the company to complete the project on time now, the authorities should have pushed for timely completion of the project when the supreme court and National Green Tribunal had earlier directed facilitation of proper solid waste management facility, he added.
