BJYM protest outside Magistrate's office

Published on:

Members of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha demonstrated at the district magistrate’s office demanding removal of road-divider put up on one side of Rajpur Road outside the Pacific Mall. They complained that the road dividers are facilitating encroachment on this prominent road by the mall administration with the authorities failing to take necessary action.

Protesting members of the BJYM said that they had repeatedly complained about the road dividers installed on the left side of the Rajpur Road outside the mall and the resulting problems being faced by the public. In a memorandum addressed to the district magistrate, the protesters said that encroachment by the mall authorities should be removed. They had raised the issue with the DM in the past and had received an assurance that the dividers would be removed within three days. However, the district administration has failed to take any action in this case. When the protesting BJYM members reached the DM office, the DM Chandresh Kumar was not in his office so they sat on protest outside the office.

They submitted their memorandum to the sub divisional magistrate complaining that the district administration had done little more than giving assurances following repeated complaints. The SDM said that the dividers will be removed soon with the issue already being discussed with the superintendent of police (City).
