The Congress has termed the protest by Bharatiya Janata Party against the explosion in Roorkee as irresponsible.
The Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee spokesman Anshul Shree Kunj has said that the BJP should stop exploiting sensitive issues for political aims.
Stating the stance of the State Government, the PCC spokesman said that the State is working to develop a fear-free society and facilitate an efficient security apparatus. Strongly condemning the recent explosion in Roorkee, Kunj expressed grief at the death of a child in the incident.
He said, “The BJP is holding protest against the Roorkee explosion which is irresponsible. The BJP is bent upon petty politics on such sensitive issues. The BJP tends to reach a conclusion even before completion of the official inquiry, which is not proper.
The State Government is making serious efforts to strengthen the law and order situation in Uttarakhand. Apart from the efforts to facilitate modernization of the police force, new police stations are also being formed by the State Government,” he added.
