BJP's gherao stir a cheap stunt: CM's media in-charge

Published on:

Ridiculing the BJP’s proposed CM residence gherao stir slated on  October 5, Chief Minister Harish Rawat’s media in-charge Surendra Kumar said it reflected the Opposition’s frustration. He dubbed it as a cheap stunt.

Kumar advised the saffron leaders to gherao 7 Race Course instead, demanding  monetary benefit or special package of the State.

He also appealed to the people to make the MPs to account  for their performance  over the past 17 months. “The Union Government has withdrawn Uttarakhand’s status of bordering state. Now, they are treating Uttarakhand as step brother. BJP should raise voice against it,” he said.

“BJP delights to make religion its  poll plank. But its  government is sitting  over the demand for  fund for the Ardh Kumbh-2016.  Despite knowing that Uttarakhand is a disaster prone state they are  not releasing fund for the relocation of disaster- affected villages,” Kumar  said.

The  parochial approach against  Uttarkhand flies in the face of the PM pitching for team India, he said.

He made it clear that the  Congress-led State Government does not  indulge in politics of discrimination.

“The BJP  is batting  for MlAs  who have been named in a sub inspector’s murder and rape cases. Action has been taken after the MlAs had tried to put hurdle in the government’s work,” Kumar said.
