Amid celebrations of victory in recently concluded Assembly elections in some of the States, the State BJP unit flagged off a 'Shankhnad rath yatra' of party workers from here on Tuesday to Nainital-Udham Singh Nagar parliamentary constituency to garner support and make people aware about the Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's public rally in Dehradun on December 15.
The 'Shankhnad rath yatra' will be taken to different Assembly constituencies of the aforesaid parliamentary constituency to mobilise the party network and encourage the people to take part in this rally in a big number. Former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand and senior party leader Bhagat Singh Koshiyari, flagged off the said 'yatra', calling upon the party workers to be united to make this public rally a big success.
People are totally fed up with this Congress led UPA Government due to its failure in addressing their concerns. Inflation is the major concern of the people of this country today. But the Central Government has badly failed to provide any relief from this unprecedented inflation, alleged Koshiyari. The results of recently held Assembly elections in some states have only shown how the people are upset with this Congress led UPA Government for its anti-people policies and corruption, he added.
Therefore, now people wish to listen to our Prime Ministerial candidate Modi. That is why it is high time we must expose the anti-people policies and the problems being faced by the public under this Congress led UPA regime, he further said. The 'Shankhnad rath yatra' that was launched by Koshiyari here today, was part of the state BJP's larger support mobisation process in favour of this much talked about Modi rally in State capital on December 15.
Under this process, among others the state BJP president, Tirath Singh Rawat has already visited different parts of the Kumaon division to encourage the party workers to make this rally a 'big success'.
