Welcoming the various decisions taken in the meeting of the State Cabinet presided over by the Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, the Bharatiya Janata Party has opined that these decisions will have long term effects for facilitating development and good governance in the State.
The BJP State media in-charge Devendra Bhasin said that the decision taken by the state cabinet regarding strict implementation of the no work-no pay rule will prove to be an important step towards preventing Uttarakhand from turning into a strike-prone state. He said that despite being a comparatively small state, about two years ago, Uttarakhand was among the top three Indian states with maximum strikes and demonstrations. Such a situation is an impediment on the path to development. The current state government has a positive stance towards meeting all the valid demands of the employees. It is proof of the government’s benevolence that the days spent on strike so far have been adjusted with casual leaves after which the decision was taken to strictly enforce the no work- no pay rule. From the developmental point of view, controlling corruption is important while a major change in the work culture is also needed. The BJP also welcomed the decision to name Dehradun airport after former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, stating that it was during his tenure as the PM that the state of Uttarakhand was created. Naming the airport after him would be a humble tribute of the public to him. Bhasin also appreciated the various other decisions taken by the state cabinet in its meeting on Saturday.
