BJP to confront Govt on host of issues

Published on:

True to custom, the Vidhan Sabha session which is scheduled to start from Wednesday is going to have stormy session this time too, as the members of the main Opposition BJP plan to leave no stone unturned to corner the Congress-led State Government over dozens of issues. The catastrophe experienced in the Garhwal and Kumaon divisions of Uttarakhand would surely become a hot topic for discussion of the Opposition party during the session.

However, the BJP leaders are in a mood to have discussion in the right manner in order to redress the grievances of the displaced villagers. The BJP will make a bid to turn the heat on the ruling party over the disaster issue. In an exclusive interaction with The Pioneer, the leader of Opposition in Vidhan Sabha, Ajay Bhatt, lambasted the Congress-led State Government over the natural disaster issue. “The Opposition wants to have good discussions during the Vidhan Sabha proceedings, but the attitude of the State Government also matters,” he reiterated, and also urged the Cabinet Ministers to give correct and authentic replies to the queries, fired by the BJP and other political party legislators.

The Congress-led Government is working with political vendetta and the BJP will raise this issue during the session through protest outside the Vidhan Sabha on September 19, he said. However, sources revealed that the brutal murder of former official spokesman of Cabinet Minister, Dr Harak Singh Rawat, scam in disaster relief works, inability to carry prompt rescue and relief operations in the disaster affected areas, baton charge during students’ union election in the capital city, insensitive approach for not carrying timely rehabilitation work in the disaster-affected areas, resuming rituals at Kedarnath shrine without Teerth and Purohits,  recently launched food security scheme, inability to repair the damaged infrastructure like potable water pipelines, health centres, schools, connecting roads and routes etc will be issues on which the BJP will confront the Government.
