BJP to call on Governor

Published on:

State BJP leaders would call on the Governor of Uttarakhand on Saturday to demand  action on the  raging  liquor CD scam. Stating this, State BJP president Tirath Singh Rawat said during a whirlwind Kumaon tour on Friday that his party would not sit idle on the matter.  “The Chief Minister Harish Rawat must resign owning  moral responsibility  for what the  CD has shown,” he added.

“Chief Minister’s personal secretary Mohammed Shahid who is now in the eye of the storm is known to  be  CM’s  blue-eyed boy. He has been working  under him since  Rawat was a Union minister.  What is shameful is that  Rawat  had entrusted him with     monitoring works  of the anti-corruption wing in  the state,” he said.

Referring to the     disaster scam, the BJP leader said   the  State Government is  refraining  from taking  action against those  embroiled in it. “He is  rather fawning on  them,” he  added.
