BJP State president rejects talk of dissent

Published on:

Rejecting the 'rumours' of dissent spawned by the meeting over tea at the residence of Haridwar MP and former Chief Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, the Bharatiya Janata Party state president Ajay Bhatt said on Tuesday that no political inference should be drawn from the programme.

He was answering the questions of media persons on the sidelines of a ceremony organised at the residence of Uttarakhand chief minister on Tuesday.

Bhatt said that there is nothing wrong in such events and suggested every MlA should host such tea parties. He went on add that such tea parties would promote communication among the MlAs and party leaders and strengthen the organization of the party. On the question of Khanpur MlA Pranav Singh ‘Champion’ expressing his resentment on style of functioning of the state Government and meeting the party President Amit Shah in New Delhi, Bhatt said that the Khanpur MlA is part of BJP and is very senior leader of the party. “Since he is player and a 'Champion' he sometimes becomes over-enthusiastic. He is a senior leader of our party,’’ he quipped.

The BJP State chief termed the news of 29 MlAs holding a meeting in Delhi and making plans against the Government as baseless and mischievous.
