Following the political turmoil in the State, a race for launching yatras has begun. “Banish Congress and corruption” is the aim of the yatra launched by the BJP State president along with other party workers on Sunday after doing ritualistic worship at Har-ki-Pauri.
State party chief of BJP Ajay Bhatt launched the “Bhrashtachar mitao, Congress hatao” yatra on Sunday amidst religious rituals along with legislators and other party workers. launching the yatra, Ajay Bhatt said, the yatra was an awareness rally to make the people of Uttarakhand understand the real face of Congress. Speaking to the media persons, party State head said, “There is an environment of fear and corruption prevailing in the State after the exposure of the sting operation CD released by rebel Congress leaders against Uttarakhand former Chief Minister Harish Rawat. The real face of Rawat has surfaced but still he is boldly moving around. This yatra is to unveil the real face of Rawat.”
Notably the rebel Congress leaders had released a sting operation CD and alleged that Chief Minister Harish Rawat tried to woo them with money.
Meanwhile Harish Rawat and party State President Kishore Upadhyay met Shankaracharya Swaroopanand Saraswati at his ashram in Sunday. Paying a visit to Shankaracharya has become a must do activity of the political leaders of Congress party. Every second day ashram is visited by one or the other congress leader seeking the blessings of the seer. Swaroopanand is these days on a sojourn to the holy city.
Speaking to the media persons Harish Rawat said, “The BJP must launch Prayashchit (repentance) yatra after taking holy dip so that the blot put by the BJP on the state can be washed out.” Rawat further said that it was nothing new for the BJP leaders to launch a yatra but it would have been better if the Congress leader launched the yatra to remove the blot impressed on the Government of the State. The blot the BJP has given to the state can never be lessened. It is unpardonable.
When asked about the partiality in distribution and allotment of the mining lots, Harish Rawat clarified his stand saying, “I never allotted any new mining lot to stone crusher. They were already allotted during the times of Vijay Bahuguna and the rule of BJP.”
