BJP slams Govt over poor Yatra arrangements

Published on:

Responding to the ‘Dhol-Pol Yatra’ stated to be planned by the Congress in Uttarakhand, the Bharatiya Janata Party State chief Ajay Bhatt lambasted the Congress-led State Government accusing it of having failed to facilitate smooth flow of pilgrims undertaking the Char Dham Yatra. In an informal interaction with the mediapersons here on Monday, Bhatt opined that the Congress had become nervous in view of the ‘Pardafash Yatra’ planned by the BJP to expose the rampant corruption in the State Government’s functioning.

He averred that fearing the impact of the BJP’s planned campaign, Chief Minister Harish Rawat had declared the ‘Dhol-Pol Yatra’ in a desperate bid to protect the Congress in Uttarakhand. He said, “The Pardafash Yatra campaign to be undertaken by the BJP across the state will entail exposing the major corruption in the workings of the Congress-led State Government.

The Congress may undertake its planned Dhol Pol Yatra but it will be the BJP which will be the one to drum up support of an informed public against corruption being facilitated in the State. The Congress party is scattered in the state and  what is left of the party is being managed by the Chief Minister. So busy is the Chief Minister Harish Rawat on making efforts to maintain the party in power, the State Government appears to be least bothered about the plight of the residents of Uttarakhand apart from the pilgrims and other visitors arriving here.

This is evident considering the recurring disruption in the Char Dham Yatra which has been affected by the mismanagement by the State Government. The people are observing the goings on and will surely teach a lesson to the Congress in the coming assembly elections.
