BJP should have faith in N Ravi Shankar inquiry: PCC chief

Published on:

The Pradesh Congress Committee president Kishore Upadhyay has said that the BJP should have faith in the inquiry conducted  by Chief Secretary N Ravi Shankar into the alleged 2013 disaster relief scam.

Addressing the media in Dehradun on Sunday, the PCC chief said that the chief secretary is known to be an honest officer so the BJP should have trust in the inquiry conducted by the bureaucrat with a high level of intengrity. Upadhyay alleged that the BJP in Uttarakhand was now insisting that the alleged scam be recommended for a CBI inquiry because the BJP-led Government at the Centre can use the CBI to its advantage.

The PCC chief further alleged, “Though the alleged disaster relief scam did not prove to be a disaster in the chief secretary’s inquiry, it did reveal a nexus between some Right To Information (RTI) activists and the information commissioner. We demand that probes should be held into both the RTI activist in this case and the information commissioner concerned who recommended the case to the chief minister for a high level inquiry,” said Upadhyay.
