The Vice President of the State unit of Congress party Surya Kant Dhasmana has blamed the BJP Government for acting in a partisan manner and adopting a prejudiced view towards the schemes started by the Congress Government.
He said that the Indira Amma Canteens providing quality food at very low prices are facing Government apathy merely because they were started during the regime of Congress party.
Speaking to the media persons at Rajiv Bhawan, the state congress office, here on Saturday, he said that the State Government has stopped giving financial support to the Indira Amma canteens due to which these canteens are on verge of closure. “These canteens provide very good quality meals at Rs 20 per diet in a very good and clean ambience. Since these rates are subsidised, the State Government provides a financial help to the tune of Rs 10 per diet.
From last five months the State Government has not released the money for these canteens. The canteens are favourite among poor and students but due to the apathy of Government they are on verge of closure. There seems no reason for this hostile behaviour apart from the fact they were started by Harish Rawat when he was chief minister and they are named after Indira ji,’’ he said.
Continuing his diatribe on the BJP Government, Dhasmana said that the various pension schemes started by the Congress Government are also being targeted.
The names of the beneficiaries for the pensions are being removed on one pretext or other. He said that after the end of process of elections, the Congress party would raise these issues concerning the general public both inside the assembly and outside it.
