In Almora, the BJP members protested against a woman complainant who had met Almora Circle Officer Vimal Achari on Wednesday and demanded fair inquiry into the murder of a woman named Geeta Kholia in Pilibhit (Uttar Pradesh) in 2007 with Someshwar MlA Ajay Tamta being accused of conspiring in this murder. The woman complainant had recently met the DGP BS Sidhu and demanded fair inquiry in this case.
DGP has transferred this case to Almora police. The woman complainant identified herself as Manu Neeraj, national president of Jagriti Manch, New Delhi based NGO. Sources revealed that this case was also raised in the Uttarakhand Vidhan Sabha in the year 2007. Almora SP Ashok Kumar Bhatt said that after conducting thorough investigation in this case, he would submit the report to DGP by February 1.The Someshwar MlA refuted the charges and said that he was being framed in the case for political reasons in view of the coming lok Sabha elections.
