Following the recent ruckus at a local Haridwar Haat-based restaurant, the police have now opened the history sheet of Bharatiya Janata Party leader Monu Rana. The police are learnt to have listed his history sheet under number 4 A, given his alleged involvement in eight other cases. The BJP leader has been absconding since March 8. He has been tagged as a repeat offender by the Haridwar police.
Earlier a Youth Congress leader, he switched to the BJP and was supposed to be close to the four-time BJP legislator and now a Minister Madan Kaushik, say sources.
The police are now on the lookout for Rana and his aides in connection with the case of vandalism that happened at a restaurant based in Haridwar Haat near old Ranipur Mode on March 8. Monu along with others had allegedly manhandled the restaurant owner Rajeev Madan and Drona and made a murderous assault on other staff members of the
restaurant.
Speaking to The Pioneer, SSP Krishna Kumar V K said: “Six cases of attempt to murder have been lodged against Monu Rana aside from two other cases lodged under different sections of IPC. We would soon declare him as an absconder and kurki will be enforced on his belongings.”
