BJP issues notice to MlA for statements against CM, Govt

While former BSP legislator Mohammad Shahzad was expelled from the party for ‘anti-party activities’, the Bharatiya Janata Party has served a notice to its MlA Sanjay Gupta for comments made against the chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat who had attended the wedding party of Shahzad’s son on the weekend. However, the unhappiness of BJP legislators has become a social buzz these days. While Shahzad was expelled by BSP, BJP legislator from laksar, Sanjay Gupta openly slammed CM Trivendra Singh Rawat for “having time to attend parties but not for his own legislators”.

On Sunday, the BJP state media in charge Devendra Bhasin informed that the party’s state president Ajay Bhatt had taken serious cognisance of statements made by Gupta in the media. His statements against the party and state government published in the media and broadcast on television channels had also gone viral on the social media. In the notice served to him, his statements have been categorised as indiscipline as they are seen to dent the image of the party and government. He has been directed to reply in 10 days to the BJP state head failing which action will be initiated. Bhatt said that the BJP is a disciplined party and nobody in it has the right to indulge in indiscipline. Meanwhile, Bhasin expressed surprise at Gupta’s statements. He said that the chief minister was focussing on development in all spheres. Recently, he had chaired a review meeting of developmental works in constituencies of Haridwar district. Works in laksar constituency had been reviewed first in the meeting and among other works, one bus station had also been approved. Regarding the CM attending Shahzad’s son’s wedding function, he said that the programme had been scheduled in advance and was part of social obligations.

It will be recalled here that on Saturday, Gupta had trained his guns at the BJP government saying the Government did not have time for its legislators but had time for party. Speaking to media persons he had said that the CM had time to visit marriage party of former BSP legislator’s son but he did not come during Arya Sammelan in Gurukul. He said bureaucracy was heavy on the government.

Earlier too BJP legislators had opposed the decision to make Mohammad Sattar, Shahzad’s brother a member of district Panchayat but this was not taken seriously by the leadership.
