Ridiculing the saffron mission of turning India into ‘Congress mukt Bharat’, the president of the All India Mahila Congress Shobha Oza said that the BJP is in reality going all-out to make a ‘Congress yukt BJP’. “The saffron leaders are hell-bent on poaching the Congress leaders and to induct them in BJP by foul means. The same happened in Uttarakhand too before the State went for the Assembly polls,” she said while addressing the party workers at Radha Krishna Dham on Thursday. She asked the party’s women workers to prepare for the 2019 lok Sabha polls.
She warned that the workers who are sitting idle would be thrown out of the party. “Congress has no place for such indolent workers. Those who are sincere and hard- working must start preparing for the next lok Sabha election,” Oza said.
Hitting out at the BJP government in the Centre, Ozha said that it is an authoritarian regime, out to tag anyone who dares to dissent as anti-national. “But the saffron camp must remember the fact that it was the Congress, not RSS, which led to the freedom through sacrifice of thousands of its leaders and workers,” she said.
Taking a dig at the BJP government in the state, she said that it has reduced itself to a patron of the liquor and the mining mafia. “Crime is on the rise in the state and all the people- friendly schemes introduced by the previous Congress-helmed government have been scrapped by the BJP Government. For the first time in the state, farmers are committing suicide. Things are appalling,” said Ozha.
Giving tips to the women workers for the 2019 polls, she said that they would go from door to door during the campaigning. “Besides, post cards bearing PM Modi’s photo and containing answers of the people to a list of questions based on the matters like Rs 15 lakh getting into everyone’s account, security for women, Achhe Din and rising prices would be sent to the PMO,” she said.
