A week ahead of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Uttarakhand visit, the BJP is gearing up at the district level.
The district saffron camp leaders said as part of the strategy firmed up for general election, the party will launch a public contact programme by using chariots named ‘BJP Rath’ and each will cover two Lok Sabha constituencies. “On Wednesday, the chariot reached Haridwar. Party workers will interact with people of the particular constituencies from the chariot. Their suggestions will be sent to the central leadership,” a district BJP leader said. Based on the suggestions collected from the people, party’s manifesto will be prepared, he added.
Now meetings are being held to decide who would be the in-charges of the Lok Sabha constituency areas involving the five seats up for grab in the State and the strategies of the party’s outreach are being firmed up. The party sources said that the national level secretary (organisation) Shiv Prakash has tried to assess the strength of the aspirants for the seats during his recent visit. At the same time , party leaders and activists are being asked to give inputs on how to further strengthen the party.
The campaign strategies of the party include putting BJP flag and party sticker on every house.
The party leaders said that the process has already started.
The former district party president Naresh Sharma said that every BJP worker from his area would send selfie notification at the booth level and the State BJP in-charges will put them on the BJP app after all the flags and stickers are placed. “We are using technology to find out if the works are being done as per the directive,” he said.
Sharma added, “The LS polls are barely two months away. We are sure that the wind has been blowing strongly in favour of our party. The party activists must now plunge headlong into the election campaigning.”
He said the string of welfare schemes rolled out by the Centre and State Government over the years has steeled the people’s resolve to re-elect the BJP candidates.
It is further learnt that after the field work is over, the party would hit the election battleground on February 11 to be observed by the saffron camp as Samarpan Diwas (Day of Dedication).
