Condemning the police repression against the TET trainee teachers, leader of Opposition Ajay Bhatt has said that since inception of Congress-led State Government, they have been running the State like a dictatorship. The way they resorted to lathi-charge over the hapless TET trainee teachers reminded one of the British regime, he said. When the High Court has given their judgement in their favour, then the State should have appointed them, but they did not do so, he said.
“On the one hand, the State Government has denied their right and on the other hand, they resorted to lathi-charge to suppress their demand. It has ascertained our claim that the State Government has failed to serve the purpose of people which is why they are
staging protests despite police reprimand. Before this, they were also beaten up when they had staged protest at Vidhan Sabha and the State Government had ordered a judicial enquiry,” he said.
later, Bhatt, along with State BJP president Tirath Singh Rawat and his team, visited Doon hospital and Coronation hospital to provide succour to the wounded victims. He reiterated that the BJP would support their demand and will fight for them.
Secretary School Education Manisha Panwar said: “We have been busy in finalising the policy as per the High Court order; for this, we need to make an amendment in service rule; so we have decided to put the matter before the Cabinet.”
