The Congress party has alleged that three years after assuming office, the Union Government of the Bharatiya Janata Party under the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not been able to fulfill the promises made to the people of the nation. In order to “expose these false promises made by the BJP”, the Congress party is conducting a nation-wide programme holding Press conferences in the period between May 16 and June 15.

As part of this nation-wide programme, on May 26 the All India Congress Committee spokesman Abhishek Manu Singhvi and on May 31 the All India Mahila Congress chairperson Shobha Oza will be addressing Press conferences at the Congress Bhawan in Dehradun. Providing this information, the Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee chief spokesman Mathura Datt Joshi elaborated that the focus of these Press conferences by the national leaders of the Congress party will be focused on “exposing the false promises” made by the BJP Government at the Centre to the public. He further said that on the directions of the Congress party national president Sonia Gandhi, the party will organise such types of Press conferences all across the nation to remind the people of the nation about the promises made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP to the voters during the election time. The policy failures of the BJP government at the centre will also be focused upon in these Press conferences, added the PCC chief spokesman.
