The Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday rejected the allegation that his party had ever promised to pay Rs 15 lakh in the account of every citizen on bringing back black money stashed abroad if voted to power.

“This is false. We have never made such promise,” BJP national vice-president Dinesh Sharma said while reacting to media query here on Thursday.

He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley were working hard to bring back black money.

Sharma said that the Modi Government at the Centre had brightened India’s standing in the international arena. “The Government has evacuated Indians from crisis-ridden countries like Yemen and others. Some foreign countries sought our support too on such matters,” he added.

“In last one year, we have restored the dignity of Kashmiri Pandits. They were previously stopped from casting votes. Now, they are casting votes. Besides, we have given Rs 500 core special package to Jammu & Kashmir Government,” he said.

Talking about the Myanmar, he said the Indian Army had succeeded in eliminating terrorists from the neighbouring country. “Now, we would conduct similar operation in other neighbouring countries too if it is required,” he said.

As far as Uttarakhand is concerned then Union Transport Minister had given Rs 13,000 crore for the construction of Char Dham roads. However, Niti Aayog has given 156 per cent more as compared to last year, he said.

Referring to the membership campaign in Uttarkhand, he said that the State had added 15.42 lakh new members in the BJP. The figure would go up as verification process was in progress, the BJP leader said.

BJP is going to organise fortnight- long Jan Sampark Abhiyan (public interaction campaign), which begins on the occasion of Shyam Prasad Mukherjee’s birth anniversary on June 23 and it would end on July 6, the Jana Sangh founder’s death anniversary.
