Infuriated with the apathetic attitude of the officials of the Public Works Department (PWD), the BJP councillors at Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) gheraoed the Executive Engineer of PWD here on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, the councillors said that in spite of various development related announcements by successive Chief Ministers in the State, PWD officials have not implemented any of them. This lethargic attitude of the officials is hampering various development related works in the city. The councillors of all the wards are facing difficulties due to the pending developmental works in their wards due to the attitude of the PWD officials.
Councillors stated that they had raised the issue earlier several times but no positive response has been received from the officials concerned who have cited insufficient funds as the major cause of delay in the development works.
